Asalaam Alaikum,

I am very privileged to introduce myself as the new President of Cambridge University Pakistan Society. I hope you got a chance to familiarise yourself with my vision for this society, and that, inshaAllah, 2008-09 will see the CU PakSoc reaching new heights.

I'd like to thank everyone who attended yesterday's AGM for coming along and showing their support.

I would also like to extend a huge thanks to the previous Pakistan Society Committee, who have set the bar very high for the new CU PakSoc Committee. Their support has been and continues to be invaluable and I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate them for a year of, mashaAllah, very successful and immensely memorable events.

Basit has already kindly introduced the new executive, but just to reiterate please do not hesitate to contact any of us with your ideas, comments or questions. After all, we are here to represent you.

Vice President: Zaid Khan (zk218@cam.ac.uk)
Secretary: Arif Khokhar (aak38@cam.ac.uk)
Treasurer: Qasim Gulamhusein (qg206@cam.ac.uk)

I also encourage all of you to consider running for a position on the committee. If you are interested please just drop me an e-mail. The positions available are likely to be sponsorship, graduate representative, access, publicity. I can guarantee, from my own experience, that a position on the committee is an incredible learning experience, a chance to meet some phenomenal individuals and have a lot of fun. So please do come forward and get keen about the society.

On that note, I look forward to getting to know you all and working with and for you, and urge you to please get keen about this society because it truly works only because of you and only for you.

Best Wishes,

Sarah Mateen
Cambridge University Pakistan Society President
NUPSA Secretary
